Product Development

Manufacturing

With a market that craves clean, quality supplements, it is important to partner with a manufacturer that is efficient without compromising quality. To ensure that your product is manufactured with care, we have registered with the FDA, invested in state-of-the-art equipment, and have earned copious quality certifications. Nutra Connection currently has 13 clean rooms where tasks such as blending (powder), single-serving packet filling, high-speed rotary filling, powder filling, encapsulation, and bottling are performed by knowledgeable staff and powerful machines. Quality Testing

Concerned that your contract manufacturer won’t be as concerned about quality as you? At Nutra Connection, we partner with the best third-party labs for quality testing. All incoming raw materials are sampled and sent to these labs before being included in the manufacturing process. Identity and microbiology tests (mold, yeast, bacteria, etc.) are standard for all raw materials - and additional tests can be ordered if you desire. Only raw materials that pass their quality tests are used to manufacture your product, and we have Quality Technicians performing regular quality checks on our equipment (swab tests, gluten tests, weight checks, lot code checks, etc.) to ensure that the final product meets your specifications. Manufactured final products are also sent to third-party labs for quality testing (e.g. microbiology, color, weight, and odor testing). Should you wish to order additional quality tests on your manufactured product, we can help facilitate these tests through third-party labs.
Warehousing

So you’ve manufactured a product… that is incredible! But now you have other important aspects of your business to consider, including where to store your inventory. Nutra Connection owns and operates a 40,000 square foot warehousing facility and a 16,000 square foot fulfillment facility in Utah. We are happy to provide scalable storage for your inventory needs.
Order Fulfillment

Managing your product from conception to inception is hard, especially if you find yourself needing to contract services throughout the supply chain. Keep it simple on yourself by working with a contractor that provides all of the services you need, from Product Development to Order Fulfillment. Nutra Connection operates a Fulfillment Facility that can help manage and ship your customer orders.The Order Fulfillment software we use is capable of integrating with all major shopping carts. Additionally, our inventory management program contains powerful reporting tools that keep you updated so you can make informed business decisions. These reports include on-hand inventory counts and constantly-updated shipping details so you can guarantee that your customers are receiving their orders as promised.

Manufacturing Capabilities

Powder Blending
We have two separate blending rooms. One has a large Paddle/Fluidizer Blender (114 Cubic Foot capacity) for large-scale powder blending (15,000 kilo blend capacity per shift). This blender is fed by a completely contained powder transfer system, which is conveyed pneumatically. The other blending room has a 20 Cubic Foot V-Blender for smaller powder and non-liquid blending needs (2,000 kilo blend capacity per shift).

Single-Serve Packet Filling
Nutra Connection’s new “stick pack” packaging equipment efficiently manufactures sticks with accurate weight, consistent proportions, and beautiful seals! The multi-lane, fill-and-seal packaging equipment can fill stick packs with powder in three different packet widths (23mm, 35mm and 40mm) and at varying packet lengths. We also have a sachet filling machine to help accommodate larger-serving-size packet widths (2.32”, 3” & 4” AKA 59 mm, 76mm & 100mm); also at various packet lengths. In fact, Nutra Connection’s 10-lane (dedicated 35mm) machine can run 240,000 sticks in one shift! Combine this with our additional stick pack equipment, and you’ll find that Nutra Connection can fill over half a million sticks in a single shift.

High-Speed Rotary Filling
Nutra Connection has two high-speed rotary filling machines for filling products into pouches or gusseted bags. One of the high speed rotary filling machines is made for powder filling while the other one is made for non-powder filling (excluding liquids). Nutra Connection can fill various amounts of powders and many forms of non-liquid items into pouches or bags (such as single-use packets, foods, candies, capsules, tablets, etc.).

Powder Filling
Nutra Connection’s new auger filling equipment is capable of filling powders and granular materials into pouches, gusseted bags, tubs or bottles. The machines are suitable for both large and small-scale production runs.

Encapsulation
Nutra Connection has a new high-capacity encapsulation machine capable of filling powder or granular materials into two different capsule sizes (Size 0 or Size 00). In conjunction with our capsule transfer system and powder reclamation system, we can output 130,000 “double zero” capsules or 145,000 “zero” capsules in one hour. And we can do this with very little loss of powder compared to other manufacturers lacking the same equipment. Our encapsulation process includes equipment that polishes the capsules and passes them through metal detection prior to completion.
*We encourage the use of HPMC capsules, but our clients can request the use of gelatin capsules if they prefer.

Bottling
Nutra Connection has a high-capacity bottling line capable of bottling capsules, tablets, softgels*, or powders. Depending on a few factors (like capacity), Nutra Connection can fill 7,000 - 15,000 bottles in a single shift. The bottling line can also fill jars!
We have equipment placed in-line that handles metal detection, weight checking, capping, sealing, labeling, lot & date coding, and tamper-evident neck banding. We also have the equipment in-line to add in a desiccant packet and/or cotton filling as needed.
